Frequently asked questions
How hosting works, what guests can do, and what happens to the photos after the night.
No. Guests scan the event QR code or click the shared link, pick a temporary nickname, and start using the web camera instantly. There are no App Store downloads and no account sign-ups required for guests. They stay in their native mobile browser.
Yes, guests will never be charged to join an event or upload photos. No payment walls, mid-event paywalls, or advertisements are shown on the guest interface. This is one of our core product principles.
To recreate the magic of retro disposable film, guest photos go into an undeveloped, locked queue. Other guests cannot see them while the event is live — only the host can review shots for moderation. Once the host clicks "Develop Roll", the collection develops at once, letting all guests experience the photos together.
Hosts have access to a private Moderation Queue. Before the roll is revealed, or while it is developing, the host can review every photo. Blurry shots, accidental pocket clicks, or inappropriate images can be rejected or hidden from the developed gallery.
Developed galleries stay available for browsing and downloads after the event. NightRoll does not currently auto-delete galleries — if retention windows are ever introduced, hosts will be told well in advance.
Yes. Even a free event lets guests save photos from the revealed gallery when the host leaves guest saving on. On the web, Download all saves the permitted photos as separate files; your browser may ask to allow multiple downloads.
